Arqana Day-2: Aggregate Up 40%

On day two of the Arqana October Yearling Sale at Deauville in France, 122 yearlings were sold for a total of €3,436,000, representing an increase of 39.5 per cent on the same day last year, while the average of €28,164 and the median of €25,000 were up 23.5 per cent & 35 per cent respectively. Once again Ecurie des Monceaux consigned the top-priced lot of the day with a Duke Of Marmalade colt fetching €145,000. Purchased by Imperial Bloodstock on behalf of a Russian client, the colt is from the family of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Classic Park.
