Arqana October Yearling Sale Day-3: Record Turnover Up 25%

On the third day of the Arqana October Yearling Sale at Deauville in France, 133 yearlings changed hands for a total of €3,017,000, up from €2,236,000 in 2012. The average price of €22,684, was up 12.6 per cent compared to last year while the median of €20,000 was up 15 per cent from 2012. The first three days of the sale has seen record turnover of €14,100,000, representing an impressive 25 per cent increase on last year's total of €10,921,000. A filly by King's Best from the Fasliyev mare Aliyeska was the top-priced lot of the day, selling to trainer Jean-Claude Rouget for €75,000. Consigned by Haras du Cadran, the filly is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Whipsaw City.
