Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearlings Day-3: Average Up 26.6%
At Wednesday's third and final session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearlings Sale at Lexington, 287 yearlings were sold for a total of US$10,524,600, 26 per cent higher than the corresponding day last year. The average price was US$36,671, up 26.6 per cent, while the median price of US$19,000 was 37 per cent higher than 2012. Lot 760 was the highest priced yearling of the day, selling for US$800,000. Consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency, the filly by leading US stallion Smart Strike from the Gr1-placed A.P. Indy mare Handpainted was purchased by Borges Torrealba Holdings and is a half-sister to Canadian stakes-winner Patena.
