Raheeb Progeny Hit Ground Running

Friday, 25th October 2013

Wattle Brae Stud's newcomer Raheeb (Royal Academy-Gatana, by Marauding) was represented by his first barrier trial winner when the Pat Duff-trained Bambino Clementine (Raheeb-Miss Jinx, by Flying Spur) scored by 0.5-length 810m barrier trial at Doomben on Tuesday. The 2YO filly is from Raheeb's first crop and was ridden by Jim Byrne in a six-horse field. Byrne is booked to ride Bambino Clementine when she debuts this weekend in the $50,000 QTIS 2YO Fillies Handicap (1000m) at Doomben. Bambino Clementine is the first foal of the Flying Spur mare Miss Jinx and hails from the family of Golden Slipper winning sire Pago Pago, Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Sakana & Gr3 winning sprinter and sire Rohatyn. Raheeb is a 10YO full-brother to Piccadilly Circus, the dam of Australia's leading stallion Fastnet Rock. He joined the Wattle Brae roster this year after covering 252 mares (initial three books) under the stewardship of owners Patinack Farm.
