Sacred Kingdom Sibling Wins On Debut

Monday, 28th October 2013

Cardinal Kingdom (Encosta de Lago-Courtroom Sweetie, by Zeditave), a full-brother to champion Hong Kong sprinter Sacred Kingdom, opened his career in perfect style winning a 3YO maiden (1200m) at Sale yesterday. Trainer Dean Binaisse purchased the 3YO chestnut colt from the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale for $345,000 and says he was a standout yearling. "I saw him at the yearling sale and just fell in love with him. He's a cracking type," Binaisse told TVN. "He doesn't look like an Encosta, he looks like a Zeditave which is another reason why I liked him so much. We will take our time with him but he's an exciting horse." Sacred Kingdom was an outstanding sprinter winning 17 of his 36 starts including seven Gr1s, namely the Gr1 Centenary Sprint Cup - twice, Gr1 Chairman's Sprint Prize - twice, Gr1 Hong Kong Sprint - twice, & Gr1 Krisflyer International Sprint. Cardinal Kingdom's dam is the three-time city winning Zeditave mare Courtroom Sweetie, a full-sister to Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes & Gr2 Champagne Stakes winner Love Of Mary.
