Nashville Returns For Second Australian Campaign
Top Melbourne jockey Steven Arnold will partner Gr1-winning New Zealand galloper Nashville (Darci Brahma-Royal Kiss, by Royal Academy) in the Gr1 Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on November 9, reports NZ Racing Desk. "We booked Steven Arnold after we rang the handicapper and he said the horse would get between 55 and 56kg and that's about what we expected," said Harry Bull, son of Hunterville trainer Adrian. The 5YO son of Darci Brahma has not raced since his eye-catching second behind Ransomed in the Gr1 Spring Classic at Hawke's Bay earlier this month, but showed he was in good form with a 1000m trial win at Waverley on Tuesday. "He went really well and Rosie (Myers) was happy with the horse," Bull Jnr said. "He looks good and the dapple is starting to come out in his coat now the sun has finally come out. I'll be flying over with him on Sunday." Nashville will be making his second trip to Australia after competing at last year's Queensland winter carnival. However, that proved to be a disappointing exercise, with a virus preventing him from performing at is best. Nashville has hitherto won 7 of his 17 starts for NZ$328,284 earnings.
