Beauty's Beast Ruled Out Of Guineas
Promising New Zealand 3YO Beauty's Beast (Guillotine-Black Beauty, by Black Minnaloushe) has been withdrawn from Saturday's Gr3 Hawkesbury Guineas due to an elevated temperature, report NZ Racing Desk. Hamilton trainer David Greene was disappointed that the Guillotine gelding would not get the opportunity to improve his winning strike rate but said his last-start win in the Listed South Pacific Classic at Randwick on the final day of The Championships proved he was a horse going places. "He's got an elevated temperature so he's going to be scratched. It's a bit of a bummer but such is life," Greene said. Greene said the Windsor Park Stud-owned galloper would return to New Zealand on Monday. "He's achieved what we wanted to achiever this prep," Greene said. "There were other races over here that we would have looked at but now he's got a bit crook, it would have been too hard to pick him back up. I'd have been horrified to have run and risked pushing him too far." He added, "He'll head home and go out on some good grass then come back in and hopefully kick some butt next season. His win at Randwick was brilliant. He's such a brave and courageous horse."
