Kushadasi Wins Gr1 South Australian Derby

At Morphettville in South Australia, multiple Gr1-winning shuttler & former star Australian sprinter Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) celebrated a Gr1 triumph when 3YO gelding Kushadasi (Choisir-Shanghai Moon, by Carnegie) scored by 0.1-length for trainer Richard Jolly in the $500,000 Gr1 South Australian Derby (2500m) for 3YOs, over 3YO filly Scratchy Bottom (Sebring-Silk Veil, by Danehill) & fellow 3YO gelding Best Case (Savabeel-Ambitious, by Last Tycoon). This was Kushadasi's first stakes victory and took his record to 5 wins and 3 placings (including the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas) from 10 starts for $504,240 earnings. Kushadasi was purchased by Jolly for $100,000 at the 2012 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Cornerstone Stud.
