Danehill Dancers Adds SAf Black-Type

Tuesday, 6th May 2014

At Kenilworth in South Africa, former shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a black-type success when 3YO Australian-bred filly Acrostar (Danehill Dancer-Nova Star, by Iglesia) scored by 1-length for trainer Justin Snaith in the R150,000 Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes (1400m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Souk (Greys Inn-Tagine, by Strike Smartly) & Supreme Sunset (Western Winter-Supreme Duel, by Royal Chalice). This was the first stakes victory for Acrostar who took her record to 2 wins and 1 placing from 7 starts for R144,500 earnings. Acrostar, out of Gr1 Tatt's Winter Stakes winner Nova Star, was purchased by James Bester for $340,000 at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale form the draft of Coolmore Stud.
