Inglis Broodmare & Weanling Sale Day-3: $800K For Dariana

Wednesday, 7th May 2014

The top priced lot of this year's Inglis Australian Broodmare & Weanling Sale was the beautifully bred Redoute's Choice mare Dariana (Lot 312) who was sold by Bell View Park Stud for $800,000 after passing in through the sale ring yesterday. Dariana, a winner of the Gr1 Queensland Derby, has been purchased in foal to Street Cry by Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock on behalf of long term client Bob Peters. She is set to visit Pierro this spring with Peter's commenting "Pierro was all speed and class so he'll compliment her beautifully." Dariana descends from the successful European family of Gr1-winning sire Beat Hollow, and outstanding multiple Gr1-winning sire Oasis Dream and his half-sister Zenda, winner of the French 1,000 Guineas and dam of Saturday's 2,000 Guineas runner-up Kingman.
