Kelinni Set For UK Debut Friday

Thursday, 8th May 2014

Australian Gr3 winner Kelinni (Refuse to Bend-Orinoco, by Darshaan) will make his European debut for Marco Botti in the Gr3 Ormonde Stakes (2789m) at Chester on Friday, reports racingnetwork.com.au. The former Chris Waller trained stayer was purchased late last year by Darren Dance's Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock and sent to Botti's stables in Newmarket. Dance plans to campaign Kelinni, winner of the 2012 Gr3 Lexus Stakes and fourth in the Melbourne Cup that same year, at this year's Melbourne Spring carnival. Following Chester, Dance said Kelinni would run in the Hardwicke Stakes and then possibly head to the American St Leger, a race Dance has won the past two years with Jakkalberry and Dandino, before heading back to Australia.
