Zoustar Arrives In UK

Thursday, 8th May 2014

Zoustar (Northern Meteor-Zouzou, by Redoute's Choice) arrived in England overnight with connections delighted with how the star Australian 3YO has coped with the journey, reports racingpost.com. The Chris Waller-trained colt will be prepared for his Royal Ascot target of the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Charlie Hills's stable in Lambourn. "I couldn't have been more delighted, he actually looked better than when I last saw him in Australia," said David Redvers, speaking on behalf of Qatar Racing who purchased a share in the stallion prospect this year. "He's extraordinarily lost only four kilos on the flight and was as bright and perky as is possible." The son of Northern Meteor has not raced since finishing a disappointing eighth in the Gr1 Canterbury Stakes at Randwick in March, where he was subsequently found to be slightly lame. There are no plans to run before the Diamond Jubilee on 21 June . Redvers said: "There wasn't really time for a prep run. The plan was to get him here as early as we can to acclimatise and overcome any setbacks he might have during the trip and I hope we have it spot on. Certainly, if he looks as good as today in six weeks' time, I'd be delighted." Redvers added, "The Diamond Jubilee is very much the target then possibly the July Cup before he takes on stud duties back in Australia. The one caveat is that he needs good ground."
