Moonovermanhattan Wins Gr3 National Stakes

At Morphettville in South Australia, Arrowfield Stud's Gr1-winning stallion Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago- Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) celebrated his first stakes winner when 2YO colt Moonovermanhattan (Manhattan Rain-Lunaspur, by Flying Spur) scored by 0.1-length for trainer Mick Price in the $115,000 Gr3 National Stakes (1200m) for 2YOs, over 2YO fillies Not A Happy Camper (Not a Single Doubt-Happy Camper, by Grand Lodge) & Sweet And Speedy (Street Cry-Speedy Natalie, by Al Maher). This was an impressive debut performance by Moonovermanhattan who took his record to 1 win from 1 start for $73,220 earnings. Moonovermanhattan, from the Merson Cooper Stakes and Morphettville Guineas winner Lunaspur, was a $100,000 purchase by Dermot Farrington at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Arrowfield Stud.
