Arc On Frankel Sibling's Agenda

Tuesday, 13th May 2014

The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is being considered as a potential end of season target for rejuvenated galloper Noble Mission (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill) following his excellent start to the year, reports racinguk.com. The brother to champion Frankel has won two of his three starts this campaign, culminating in his impressive defeat of Telescope in the Gr3 Huxley Stakes at Chester last Thursday. That victory followed his breathtaking 9-length romp in the Gr3 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown where the enigmatic Telescope was yet again among the vanquished. While lacking the brilliance of his esteemed sibling, the Khalid Abdullah-owned Noble Mission has nonetheless always been a smart middle-distance performer who seems to be improving with age. He has now won 6 of his 15 starts and connections are beginning to dream of bigger targets. "He's proved himself very worthy. It (the Arc) has to be a consideration if we get that far," said Khalid Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe. "In terms of where he is, I think the ground will be a factor. If it was like last year or the year before, that might make it interesting. We wouldn't discount it."
