Hong Kong Flyer To Miss Ascot

Wednesday, 14th May 2014

Brilliant Hong Kong sprinter Amber Sky (Exceed and Excel-Truly Wicked, by Rubiton), favourite for the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot next month, will not run, according to trainer Ricky Yiu. The Australian-bred son of Exceed And Excel marked himself as one of the world's best sprinters when scoring a powerful win in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan in March and would have undoubtedly been a major force at the royal meeting. "We won't go to England - there are no alternative plans either," said Yiu, quoted by the South China Morning Post. "We are just giving him a rest and we will think about a plan for next season later."
