Melbourne Spring On Cauthen Radar

Wednesday, 14th May 2014

Talented Kiwi colt Cauthen (Darci Brahma-Minori Express, by Green Line Express) will return to Andrew Campbell's stables at the end of this month to begin his build-up towards the spring, reports NZ Racing Desk. "We haven't got any plans in place yet – we'll wait to see how he comes up, but we would obviously like to get back to Australia with him," the Opaki trainer said. Cauthen showed a glimpse of his ability when beating subsequent Cox Plate winner Shamus Award in the Listed McKenzie Stakes at Moonee Valley last year. He was later sidelined by shin soreness and then finished runner-up at Trentham in January before he was turned out again. Campbell said he is looking forward to the new season with a young team that includes highly-regarded Tavistock youngsters Longchamp and Werther.
