Stud Deal Pending For Shamexpress

Wednesday, 14th May 2014

Gr1-winning Australian sprinter Shamexpress (O'Reilly-Volkrose, by Volksraad) has been retired with a multi-million dollar stud deal in the process of being finalised, reports breednet.com.au. Shamexpress had his final start in the Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick during The Championships where he finished fourth behind Japanese mare Hana's Goal. The Danny O'Brien-trained Shamexpress won 3 of his 19 starts with his biggest victory coming in the 2013 Gr1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington where he defeated Moment Of Change and Aeronautical. The 4YO son of O'Reilly also registered Gr1-placings in the Lightning Stakes, VRC Sprint Classic and Coolmore Stud Classic. It is believed that subject to veterinary tests, confirmation of his purchase by a major New Zealand stud will be announced later this week.
