Big Weekend In Prospect For Vinery
With Vinery Stud once again hosting daily its 9am Stallion Parades during the Scone Cup carnival the Hunter Valley nursery has a potentially exciting weekend ahead for its stallions. Vinery's leading sire More Than Ready has US star Verrazano making his English debut on Saturday. His Ballydoyle trainer Aidan O'Brien has ambitious plans for the son of More Than Ready who runs in the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on the weekend, with the G1 Queen Anne Stakes on June 17 is his goal at Royal Ascot. More Than Ready is just finishing his latest book in Kentucky leaving established sires Mossman and Testa Rossa to lead the stallion parade at Scone. Testa Rossa filly Twilight Royale is the only horse eligible for almost $2.65 million in prizemoney and bonuses if she wins the $400,000 Inglis Scone Guineas (1400m) this Saturday. Meanwhile, Mossman is another Vinery sire enjoying a career-high season and more black-type beckons this weekend when Dothraki and Hopfgarten line up in the G3 Fred Best Classic at Doomben this Saturday. Now a 4YO, Champion colt All Too Hard will also parade at Vinery (held from 9am on each of tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday) during the Scone Cup weekend in the lead-up to his second season at stud along with Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Pluck, Husson, Onemorenomore, Dubleo, Excites and Casino Prince.
