Meydan Racecourse To Change Main Surface

Thursday, 15th May 2014

Home of the Dubai World Cup, Meydan Racecourse, which has used a Tapeta surface for its main track since the track's 2010 opening, will switch to a dirt surface for the upcoming 2014/15 season, reports thoroughbreddailynews.com. "This is a decision that will be best for the future of Meydan racing and the Dubai World Cup Carnival," noted Meydan Group CEO and chairman Saeed H.L.Tayer. "In the coming year we will celebrate the 20th running of the Dubai World Cup and the track will be the natural surface that proved so successful during the first 14 years (held at the former racecourse Nad Al Sheba) of this magnificent race day."
