Wellfield Increases Alamosa Fee
Promising young New Zealand stallion Alamosa (O'Reilly-Lodore Mystic, by Centaine) has had his service fee increased for the upcoming breeding season, reports NZ Racing Desk. Alamosa has enjoyed a terrific season highlighted by his first Gr1 winner when his outstanding daughter Kirramosa captured the VRC Oaks last spring. Consequently, the Wellfield Lodge sire, who earned champion freshman honours with his first crop, will stand at the Palmerston North stud in 2014 at the increased fee of NZ$15,500 + GST. The fee of barn-mate Road To Rock (Encosta de Lago), who has had three runners to the races for a winner (Elvis) and two placegetters, will remain unchanged at NZ$7,000 + GST. The third member of Wellfield's roster, Handsome Ransom, will stand this season at a fee of NZ$3,500 + GST. The son of Red Ransom also enjoyed success at the top level this term with his son Ransomed winning the Gr1 Spring Classic at Hastings in October.
