Pinch River Wins Listed Dalrello Stakes

At Doomben in Queensland, Darley's young Gr1 Golden Rose Stakes-winning stallion Denman (Lonhro-Peach, by Vain) added a black-type success when 2YO gelding Pinch River (Denman-Avenue Girl, by Catbird) scored by 2.3-lengths for trainer Robert Heathcote in the $100,000 Listed Dalrello Stakes (1200m) for 3YO colts & geldings, over 2YO colt Thief Of Hearts (Show A Heart-Casilda, by Cape Cross) & fellow gelding Kelvin The Kruel (Red Element-Rapidashee, by Monashee Mountain). This was the first stakes victory for Pinch River who took his record to 3 wins from 5 starts for $118,100 earnings. Pinch River was purchased for $85,000 by Paul Willetts at the 2013 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Musk Creek Farm. Denman has now sired three stakes winners with his others being Breeders' Plate winner Law and Listed Woodlands Stakes winner Shigeru Sendan. He will stand the upcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $33,000.
