Darci Brahma Fee Reduced

Friday, 23rd May 2014

Five-time Gr1 winning stallion Darci Brahma (Danehill-Grand Echezeaux, by Zabeel) will stand at $30,000 + GST at The Oaks Stud in Cambridge this year, reports NZ Racing Desk. With his oldest progeny now five years of age, Darci Brahma continues to figure prominently on the New Zealand sires table where he currently occupies second position behind O'Reilly. His star performers in 2013-14 include top-flight winners Nashville, Recite and Irish Fling and smart Australian 3YO stakes winners Cauthen and Marianne. "Darci Brahma's sire stats are again quite remarkable and as his race numbers increase in the seasons ahead we'll see him more dominant," The Oaks manager Rick Williams said. "He's had a great season here and with 49 fewer runners than O'Reilly he's done extremely well to establish his close position as New Zealand's second leading sire." Williams said the decision to reduce Darci Brahma's fee from NZ$40,000 keeps the sire accessible to commercial breeders in what are still challenging economic times.
