Kingman Wins Gr1 Irish 2,000 Guineas

Monday, 26th May 2014

At The Curragh in Ireland, former European Champion 1st Season Sire & Chatswood Stud shuttler Invincible Spirit (Green Desert-Rafha, by Kris) celebrated a Gr1 success when outstanding 3YO colt Kingman (Invincible Spirit-Zenda, by Zamindar) scored by 5-lengths in the €300,000 Gr1 Irish 2,000 Guineas (8 furlongs) for 3YOs, over fellow 2YO colts Shifting Power (Compton Place-Profit Alert, by Alzao) & Mustajeeb (Nayef-Rifqah, by Elusive Quality). Kingman took his record to 4 wins (including the Gr3 Greenham Stakes) and 1 placing (the Gr1 English 2,000 Guineas) from 5 starts for £299,051 earnings. The beautifully bred Kingman is out of Gr1-winning Zamindar mare Zenda, making him a half-brother to UK Gr3 winner Remote (Dansili). Zenda, in turn, is a half-sister to outstanding sprinter and successful sire Oasis Dream.
