MM National Weanling Day-1: $43,561 Average
On a day that concluded with an exceptional 83 percent clearance rate, the opening session of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale achieved a $43,561 average from 190 lots that sold for an aggregate $8.27 million. "The obvious story of the day was the success of the reduction of weanlings from Teeley Assets," Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox commented. "Their weanlings sold extremely well with the top priced lot at $600,000 selling to Stonestreet Stables from the US and Coolmore which is exciting news for the Australian industry." Cox enthused, "It's been an honour to have conducted this sale and a pleasure to run it. Every horse was for genuine sale as is evidenced in the results. We have the most diverse buying bench we've seen at a National Weanling Sale with strong international participation." The second weanling session starts this morning at 10am.
