Srikandi Wins Gr3 Glenlogan Park Stakes

Monday, 26th May 2014

At Doomben in Queensland, triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) added a group success when exciting 3YO filly Srikandi (Dubawi-Raining, by Hurricane Sky) scored by 1.3-lengths for trainer Ciaron Maher in the $150,000 Gr3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) for 3YO+ f&m, over 4YO mare Belle de Coeur (Show a Heart-Harmony Hall, by Minardi) & 6YO mare Platinum Rocker (Love a Dane-Platinum Strip, by Magic of Money). This was the third straight stakes victory for Srikandi who boosted her impressive strike rate to 6 wins (including the Listed Juanmo Stakes & Listed Silk Stocking) and 1 placing from 7 starts for $315,900 earnings. Srikandi, who is a half-sister to South African Gr3 winning mare Rain Gal (Galileo) and the stakes-placed Arjuna (Giant's Causeway), will now head to the Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap in two weeks time. "She's just thriving up here, I'm loving it," Maher said. "If she's fit and well, and trains on I think we will (head to the Stradbroke)."
