McDonald Booked For Telepathic

Wednesday, 28th May 2014

James McDonald has been confirmed as the new rider of the Donna and Dean Logan-prepared filly Telepathic in the Gr1 Queensland Derby (2400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday week, reports NZ Racing Desk. McDonald replaces Mark Du Plessis, who partnered the New Zealand filly in last weekend's Gr3 Grand Prix Stakes at Doomben in which she finished sixth after racing wide. McDonald combined with the Ruakaka trainers earlier in the autumn to win the Australian Oaks at Randwick with Rising Romance, and Donna Logan is hoping he can help them land another Classic success. "James has been engaged for Telepathic and it was the decision of the owner so we hope the old team can do it again," she said. Bred by Magic Millions director and Westbury Stud principal Gerry Harvey, Telepathic is by Vinery Stud stallion Mossman from the family of champion European filly Habibti and Australian Gr1-winning siblings Bonanova, Fraternity and Telesto.
