Williams Set For UK Summer

Thursday, 29th May 2014

Australian jockey Craig Williams will spend the upcoming British summer riding for leading trainer Marco Botti, with his first rides likely to be at Newmarket's July festival, reports racingpost.com. Williams has enjoyed previous success in Britain, riding 69 winners between 2000 and 2001 when stable jockey for Mick Channon. He will complete a riding contract in Japan before heading over, and speaking on RSN's Racing Ahead, said: "My last meeting here (Japan) is the Takarazuka Kinen on 29 June and then I come back [to Australia] for a week before I head over to Europe to ride for Marco Botti and Sheikh Fahad during July." Williams has a close association with Sheikh Fahad, having partnered French galloper Dunaden to victories in the Caulfield Cup and Hong Kong Vase.
