Exciting South African Winner For Big Brown

Friday, 1st August 2014

Vinery Stud's 4-time Gr1 winning stallion Big Brown (Boundary-Mien, by Nureyev) produced a winner in South African overnight with 2YO colt The Big Easy (Big Brown-Livid, by Luskin Star) scoring a most impressive debut win in a 1450m maiden juvenile plate on the sand track at Vaal. Trained by Johan Janse van Vuuren and ridden by Gavin Lerena, The Big Easy looked a horse with a bright future when romping home under a hands and heels ride to score by 6.2-lengths over Olympic Bolt and Rock Force. The Big Easy was a $52,000 purchase by Kerry Jack Bloodstock at the 2012 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale from the draft of Rothwell Park. He is the sixth foal to race from the stakes-placed Luskin Star mare Livid.
