Time To Wind The Age Clocks Forward
At midnight overnight in the Southern Hemisphere, all horses celebrated their official birthday, with the result that yearlings sold earlier this year are now 2YOs (even though we won't see their debuts until Spring approaches), last season's juveniles are now sophomores chasing Classic glory, and 2013/14's then 3YOs now join the older brigade. The new racing season brings with it the excitement of as yet unraced crops by freshman 2YO sires, with Breeding&Racing Magazine's forthcoming Gr1 edition carrying in-depth analysis of those young Australian and New Zealand shuttlers and stallions.
