Tuesday, 5th August 2014

New Zealand-bred stayer Entirely Platinum (Pentire-Platinum Blond, by Kaapstad) looked on track for a big spring carnival  when winning a trial at Rosehill yesterday morning in impressive fashion, reports NZ Racing Desk. Trained by the triumvirate of John, Wayne and Michael Hawkes, the son of Pentire beat his stable-mate Messene in a heat that also featured Gr1 Australian Oaks winner Royal Descent and dual Doncaster Mile winner Sacred Falls. Entirely Platinum won three successive races in the autumn, including the Gr3 Sky High Stakes, before finishing fourth on a heavy track in the Gr3 Sellwood Stakes. Messene also put together a string of stylish wins before finishing a creditable seventh in the Gr1 Doncaster Mile.
