Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Day-1: Tapit Fillies Top US$1M
Two fillies by North America's leading sire Tapit were the stars of the show on the opening night of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale in New York on Monday. Lot 81, a Tapit filly out of champion filly She Be Wild, grabbed the headlines late in the sale when she brought the evening's highest price of $1.15 million from Solis/Litt Bloodstock. Consigned by Bluewater Sales as agent, the grey or roan filly is the second foal from 2009 Champion 2YO US filly She Be Wild (Offlee Wild-Trappings, by Seeking the Gold), winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes and placed in the Alcibiades Stakes and Gr1 Ashland Stakes. She Be Wild has a 2YO full-brother to the million dollar colt which is yet to race. Earlier in the evening, a Tapit filly out of the winning Tiznow mare Rote (Lot 69) was the first yearling to reach seven-figures, selling for US$1 million to Nat Rea's Regis Farms. Consigned by Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services, the grey or roan filly is the first foal from Rote, who is a half-sister to Gr1 Garden City Stakes winner Magnificent Song (Unbridled's Song). Take a look at the Tapit x She Be Wild filly below.
