Tiger Tees To Resume In Aurie's Star

Wednesday, 6th August 2014

Gr1-winning sprinter Tiger Tees (Dubawi-Parfore, by Gold Brose) is likely to open his spring account in the Gr3 Aurie's Star Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on Saturday, reports skyracing.com.au. Trainer Joe Pride is favouring the Melbourne sprint over the Gr2 Missile Stakes in Sydney, on the basis that the Randwick track might be too firm for him. "I'll be accepting with him in the Aurie's Star on Wednesday and then having a look from there," Pride said. Tiger Tees will be first-up since finishing down the track in the Gr1 BTC Cup at Doomben in May. The disappointing performance was the 7YOs only blemish in an autumn campaign that yielded 2 wins from 6 starts, including the Gr1 Galaxy at Rosehill, and a third placing in the Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick. Tiger Tees, a winner of 11 of his 27 starts for over $950,000 earnings, is a half- brother to Gr3 winner Terravista (Captain Rio) and Listed winner Our Lukas (Generous), and a full-brother to promising sprinter Ball Of Muscle.
