Yorkshire Oaks For Taghrooda

Wednesday, 6th August 2014

Outstanding filly Taghrooda is on course for the Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks (12 furlongs) at York on 21 August, reports racinguk.com. John Gosden's star is unbeaten in four starts, winning the Epsom Oaks before becoming the first 3YO filly in nearly 40 years to win the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot. Taghrooda is likely to be prepared for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe before she is retired to stud by owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum. "Taghrooda has been great since Ascot and the plan is to head to the Yorkshire Oaks," said Richard Hills, assistant racing manager for Sheikh Hamdan. "She has only had four career starts so it makes sense to keep her going and this race looks ideal." He added, "I was very impressed with her performance at Ascot. She has done everything we have asked of her."
