Inkling No Certainty For Rosebud

Thursday, 7th August 2014

Meanwhile, Peter Snowden says he will speak with owner Peter Moran before committing Inkling to a start in Saturday's Listed The Rosebud (1200m) at Randwick after the talented colt was allotted top weight of 59kg, reports racingnetwork.com.au. Snowden has accepted to run in the Rosebud but indicated on Wednesday morning that he would discuss options with Moran before making a final decision. "I think he is poorly weighted with 59kg so we will look at the race in the coming days, I'll speak with Peter (Moran) and we will wait until the morning of the race," Snowden said. "There is the option of running in the San Domenico Stakes a week later and it is a set weights and penalties race so he will get in on the minimum for a colt." By Duporth from the stakes-winning Last Tycoon mare Tarcoola Diamond, Inkling is a half-brother to smart 3YO colt Cluster (Fastnet Rock) whom Snowden is setting for the Gr1 Epsom Handicap later in the spring. Duporth (Red Ransom-Staging, by Success express) will stand at Kitchwin Hills this season at a fee of $16,500.
