Puissance Tunes Up For Spring

Friday, 8th August 2014

Puissance De Lune (Shamardal-Princess Serena, by Unbridled's Song) has continued his spring build-up with an impressive 1000m barrier trial at Cranbourne yesterday morning. The one-time Melbourne Cup favourite was among a string of five for trainer Darren Weir which also included talented 4YO Trust In A Gust and new stable acquisition Mobaco, a French import owned by OTI Racing. "Puissance De Lune will kick-off now on Saturday week in the P. B. Lawrence before he goes to the Memsie then the Makybe Diva, which is his main aim all spring," Weir told racingnetwork.com.au. "He's ready to go now. He'll just have a quiet gallop at Warrnambool on Tuesday and a few trips to the sand dunes before he runs." Weir added, "We haven't had an issue with his leg right from the start. Unless he pulls up poorly after today's trial I've got to say everything has gone to plan from the first day back." Puissance de Lune will be seeking back-to-back wins when he resumes in the Gr2 PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 16 August.
