Kingman Set For French Gr1

Monday, 11th August 2014

Outstanding colt Kingman (Invincible Spirit-Zenda, by Zamindar) is set to test his credentials across the Channel in next weekend's Gr1 Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville, reports racinguk.com. The Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes hero stamped himself as Britain's best miler when scoring a brilliant victory over Toronado in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood two weeks ago. Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said:"The way he's come out of his Goodwood race is very encouraging and we just want him to remain in good form until next weekend. Provided he does that, we are very much very looking forward to bringing him to Deauville for the Marois." The beautifully bred Kingman is out of Gr1-winning Zamindar mare Zenda, making him a half-brother to UK Gr3 winner Remote (Dansili). Zenda, in turn, is a half-sister to outstanding sprinter and successful sire Oasis Dream.
