Bernardini Adds US Gr2

Tuesday, 12th August 2014

At Saratoga in the US, triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & US Eclipse Award-winning stallion Bernardini (A.P. Indy-Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American) added a Group quinella when 2YO filly Cavorting (Bernardini-Promenade Girl, by Carson City) scored by 1.75-lengths for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin in the US$200,000 Gr2 Adirondack Stakes (6.5 furlongs) for 2YO fillies, over fellow fillies Angela Renee (Bernardini-Pilfer, by Deputy Minister) & Wonder Gal (Tiz Wonderful-Passe, by Dixie Union). This was the second win from as many starts for Cavorting who won her debut at Belmont Park by 11 lengths. She took her record to 2 wins from 2 starts for US$265,000 earnings. Cavorting will now be aimed at the Breeders' Cup in November. "She's a special filly," trainer Kiaran McLaughlin told bloodhorse.com. "We'll see how she comes out of this race. "There's the Frizette (Gr1 on 4 Oct at Belmont Park) at a mile, and the Breeders' Cup (Juvenile Fillies) is obviously what we hope for."
