First Foal For Harbour Watch

Tuesday, 12th August 2014

Emirates Park reports that the first Australian-bred foals of Harbour Watch (Acclamation-Gorband, by Woodman) are safely on the ground following the birth of a filly at the stud's farm at Murrurrundi in the Hunter Valley over the weekend. The unbeaten son of sire-of-sires Acclamation recently returned to Australia for his second southern hemisphere season. An outstanding 2YO who is a direct descendant of the acclaimed matriarch Fall Aspen, Harbour Watch provides local broodmare owners with a vast range of options illustrated by the stallion's first local foal to hit the ground. From the Magnus mare Ragnhild, Harbour Watch's first Australian foal hails from the very same female family as her exciting sire is bred 4f x 5f to Fall Aspen. This is the family of high-profile sires Bianconi, Hamas, Timber Country and Fort Wood, as well as the exceptional but ill-fated Dubai Millennium. Harbour Watch recently completed his second stud season in England where he stands at Tweenhills Farm on behalf of Qatar Bloodstock Ltd. Amongst the mares the overseas concern sent to Harbour Watch during the 2013 southern hemisphere breeding season were the likes of Positive Dream, a close relation to the leading world sire Invincible Spirit; Farasha, the dam of Sharnee Rose; and Apollo's Pride, dam of the exciting Gai Waterhouse-trained 3YO Shaftesbury. Harbour Watch is available for inspection at Emirates Park on two Open Days scheduled for August 23-24 when all of the stud's NSW stallions will be paraded.
