Eagle Top Set For Ebor Meeting

Wednesday, 13th August 2014

Connections of Eagle Top will make a late call as to which feature their smart colt will target at York next week, reports 1.skysports.com. The John Gosden-trained colt, winner of the Gr2 King Edward VII Stakes and fourth in the Gr1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at just his fourth career start, holds entries in both the Gr1 Juddmonte International Stakes (10 furlongs) and the Gr2 Great Voltigeur Stakes (12 furlongs) on the opening day of the Ebor Festival on Wednesday. "We're just going to look at York for him. That's all I can say at the moment," said owner Lady Bamford's racing manager Hugo Lascelles. "We probably won't make our mind up until Monday. He appears to be in good form." He added, "Nothing is really decided yet. We were proud of his run in the King George. We think he's come out of it well so we are just going to see. He's going to work in the next couple of days and see where we go." By Pivotal from the stakes-winning Irish mare Gull Wing, Eagle Top is a brother to the very talented The Lark, winner of the Gr2 Park Hill Stakes and third behind Talent in last year's Epsom Oaks.
