Big Spring Ahead For Let's Elope Granddaughter
Trainer Nigel Blackiston is confident that Let's Make Adeal (Red Ransom-Let's Get Famous, by Danehill), a grand-daughter of 1991 Melbourne Cup winner Let's Elope, can measure up to Gr1 level this spring, reports racingvictoria.net.au. Let's Make Adeal will resume in Saturday's Gr2 PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield and while the 5YO mare will be better suited over longer journeys, Blackiston is predicting a bold first-up showing. "She's come back bigger, stronger and she's a lot sharper this time in, I think she's finally matured, if all goes to plan I think she'll have a big campaign," Blackiston told RSN's Racing Ahead. "She's bigger, stronger more mature and her two trials have been excellent, they'll know she's in the race and if she has any luck I believe she can figure in the first three." He added, "I'm hoping to head down the same path as her grandmother, she's in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup and hopefully she can get there." Trained by Bart Cummings, Let's Elope won four races at the top level, namely the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, Mackinnon Stakes and Australian Cup.
