First Foal For Bullet Train

Thursday, 14th August 2014

The first Australian-bred foal by Bullet Train (Sadler's Wells-Kind, by Danehill), a three-quarter brother to champion Frankel, has been safely delivered at Bowness Stud in Young, NSW. Stud principal John North confirmed overnight that a colt from the Canny Lad mare Best Of You had been born on the property and that everyone at the thoroughbred nursery was "delighted" with the appearance of the youngster. Best Of You was one of 162 mares served by Bullet Train in his first Australian stud season last year. She hails from one of The Aga Khan's most esteemed families, tracing back to the notable stakes winner Alannya. The catalogue page features Gr1 winners such as Alamshar (Irish Derby) and Alandi (Irish St Leger), as well as successful Australasian sire Nassipour (sire of Let's Elope). Bullet Train's first progeny were born in the US earlier this year. The dual hemisphere serving stallion has covered two quality books of mares in Kentucky where his first US-bred crop was very well received by breeders. Bullet Train is soon to complete his quarantine period before settling back in to Bowness Stud for his second local stud season. His advertised service fee for 2014 is $13,200 (inc GST).
