Hanagan Confident About Taghrooda
British jockey Paul Hanagan, injured in a fall at Glorious Goodwood last month, is close to a return to the saddle and cannot wait to reunite with Epsom Oaks and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Taghrooda (Sea the Stars-Ezima, by Sadler's Wells) in next week's Gr1 Yorkshire Oaks, reports racingpost.com. Trained by John Gosden for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, Taghrooda took her unbeaten record to four with a brilliant victory in the King George at Ascot last month, after which she was made favourite for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October. The daughter of Sea The Stars is as short as 1-4 to win next Thursday's Yorkshire Oaks, the day-two highlight of York's Ebor meeting, and Hanagan says he expects her to continue her winning ways. "The good thing about her is she is very straightforward, she has a great attitude and she has a big engine. She can go very quick and I would be very confident with her," he said. "No matter what happens at York I hope she will go to run in the Arc. I'm looking forward to her and she gives you as lot of confidence."
