Haydock On Cards For Aussie-Bound Slade Power

Friday, 15th August 2014

Eddie Lynam has revealed that Slade Power (Dutch Art-Girl Power, by Key of Luck) could have a prep run in the Haydock Sprint Cup on 6 September before flying to Australia for the Gr1 Darley Classic (1200m) at Flemington on 8 November, reports horseracing.com.au. "He is entered for the Sprint at Haydock in three weeks and there is a chance that he may go for that race or he may not," Lynam told Sky Racing HQ. "We haven't made any firm plans and he will tell us what he wants us to do with him. The main aim is the sprint at Flemington." Slade Power, winner of the Gr1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot & the Gr1 July Cup at Newmarket, will have his final race start in the Darley Classic against star Australian sprinter Lankan Rupee before retiring to stand at Darley's Kildangan Stud in Ireland next year.
