Monday, 18th August 2014

At Caulfield, Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry (Machiavellian-Helen Street, by Troy) added a Group success when 3YO filly Sabatini (Street Cry-Royal Sash, by Royal Academy) scored by 0.2-length for trainers Lee and Shannon Hope in the $150,000 Gr3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow 3YO fillies Royal Snitzel (Snitzel-Royal Charades, by Royal Academy) & Novel Dancer (Written Tycoon-Strata Title, by Strategic). This was the first stakes success for Sabatini who took her record to 2 wins and 1 placing from 3 starts for $104,225 earnings. Royal Sash was passed in for $90,000 at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Coolmore Stud. Sabatini is the fifth foal to race from the Gr3 Mannerism Stakes winner Royal Sash (Royal Academy), and is a half-sister to Gr3 SAJC The Jansz winner Vivi Veloce (More Than Ready) and the stakes-placed Just Been Lucky (Encosta de Lago).
