Australia's Most Valuable Filly Foal Shows Off

Tuesday, 19th August 2014

Few thoroughbred aficionados would argue that John Singleton has the most prized filly foal in Australia. By the world's highest ever rated racehorse Frankel (Galileo-Kind, by Danehill), the chestnut foal is a daughter of champion race mare More Joyous (More Than Ready-Sunday Joy, by Sunday Silence) who retired with 21 wins & 3 placings from 33 starts for $4,572,450 earnings. Among her victories were eight at Gr1 level which included the Flight Stakes (1600m), George Main Stakes (1600m), Toorak Handicap (1600m), Futurity Stakes (1400m), Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1500m) – twice, Doncaster Handicap (1600m) & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m). Unlikely to ever be offered for sale, the filly (below) was photographed by Katrina Partridge at Glastonbury Farm.
