Newgate Sending Two Mares To Frankel

Wednesday, 20th August 2014

Rising NSW stud farm Newgate appears set to send two mares for a southern hemisphere time mating to retired champion racehorse Frankel, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. The news was released by Newgate via Twitter. The mares that are believed to have been booked to the Banstead Manor Stud stallion are Gr1 Sportingbet Classic winner Rostova (Testa Rossa) and Precious Lorraine (Encosta de Lago). Gr3 winner Precious Lorraine is one of a number of daughters of Monsoon Wedding (a half-sister to 2013/14 Australian Champion Sire Redoute's Choice) signed for by Newgate at the 2014 Magic Millions Teeley Assets Reduction Sale. Last season Frankel covered 21 mares to Southern Hemisphere time, including champion More Joyous whose foal was featured in yesterday's Daily News.
