Williams Returns To Goulburn

Thursday, 21st August 2014

Accomplished trainer Danny Williams has returned home to Goulburn to continue his training career, reports racingnsw.com.au. Williams spent the last seven and a half months acting as foreman for South Australian trainer Tony McEvoy at his satellite stable at Hawkesbury. Williams has set up base in the on course stables formerly occupied by the late Guy Walter. He shares the complex with Walter's Goulburn foreman John Bateman. Williams says he is looking forward to returning to Goulburn where he had previously trained for 15 years. "I had a bit of time off after I left Tony McEvoy," Williams said. "I always wanted to go back training in my own right and I've got family in Goulburn. That's the reason I returned home. A client from Japan asked me to take a horse and I'm expecting to have another five on the books by next week." He added, "Training with Tony was a fantastic opportunity. It was a different insight into things but I always wanted to train again myself. I'm looking forward to the new challenge ahead."
