Moody Hoping For Rose Start With Better Land

Wednesday, 27th August 2014

Peter Moody says that talented colt Better Land will remain in Sydney in the hope of making the field for the $1 million Gr1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on 13 September, reports racingnetwork.com.au. The son of Shamardal and former outstanding juvenile filly Amelia's Dream was a desperately unlucky fourth in last weekend's Gr3 San Domenico Stakes when run off the track by the erratic Liberation. When the ATC released the latest order of entry for the Golden Rose on Monday, Better Land was in 59th position, but many of the horses above him will not start in the race. "If he doesn't make the Golden Rose field there is a Listed race at Flemington over 1400 metres on the same day, so he'll run in that race if he misses a start in Sydney," Moody said.
