Dream Ahead Colt Features At DBS Premier Sale
The impressive start to the European sales season made by Dream Ahead (Diktat-Land Of Dreams, by Cadeaux Genereux) continued on day one of the DBS Yearling Sale at Doncaster on Tuesday. Nine lots on the opening day fetched six-figure amounts including a bay Dream Ahead colt secured for £130,000. The colt is the first foal of the stakes-placed Bold Edge mare Poppy Seed who was purchased by Tony Nerses on behalf of Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, best known as the owners of Epsom Derby winner Authorized. "We've been very lucky with first season sires and we really liked this colt, he's from a very fast family," remarked Al Homaizi. It is understood that the colt will be sent to Richard Hannon to be trained. Other quality members of Dream Ahead's first crop made a similar impression at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale where both his colts and fillies were very well received. His top price representative fetched the equivalent of $386,000, while his Select Session average was close to 9-times his Irish service fee. Dream Ahead will stand the southern hemisphere season at Emirates Park at a service fee of $27,500 + GST.
