Shuttling Days Over For Choisir
Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) will not be returning to Coolmore's base in Ireland after the decision was made to leave the 17YO stallion in Australia, reports bloodstock.racingpost.com. Coolmore Australia general manager Michael Kirwan said: "He's been a wonderful asset to Coolmore's stallion roster since he retired in 2003 and beginning his shuttle career a year later." Kirwan added, "He's now a 17-year-old horse and still very fertile. But his popularity in Australia has never been better, as evidenced by the fact eight of his yearlings sold from $460,000 to $210,000, with his Inglis Easter average $423,636." Choisir has sired seven individual Gr1 winners and has achieved top-flight success in both hemispheres. The Richard Hannon-trained Olympic Glory has been Choisir's headline horse in the northern hemisphere with Gr1 victories at two, three and four, while his exciting sire son Starspangledbanner is a dual hemisphere Gr1 winner.
